We pride ourselves in being one of the only law firms based in the South West still offering a free service to prisoners. We are also able to lodge judicial review proceedings for prisoners. Under the legal aid scheme there are four kinds of cases we can provide a free service for.
Where legal aid is not available we can advise on the best way to go about dealing with other kinds of cases, including sentence planning, home detention curfews and returns from the open estate. If you do not qualify for legal aid at all we will quote reasonable rates for our work.
If you were, or your partner is, receiving Income Support, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance or income-based Jobseeker's Allowance you'll get legal aid.
Our team of specialists can offer free advice and assistance in relation to Legally Aided issues, including:
•Lifer/IPP Parole Board Reviews (Pre/Post Tariff)
•Category A Reviews
We can also offer competitive fixed fees for matters which are not currently covered by Legal Aid such as:
•Challenging Licence Conditions
•Accessing Offending Behaviour Programmes
If your assets don't exceed £1000 and your disposable income is less than £90 per week you will be entitled to legal aid.
Because legal aid is means tested, even for prisoners, if you aren't entitled to apply we can discuss a fixed fee for your case, as a private client, based on your ability to pay.
